چکیده

Multi-terminal flexible DC distribution line faults develop rapidly, and power electronic equipment has a poor ability to withstand overcurrent. To solve the aforementioned problem, unit protection scheme based on improved Grey Slope Relational Analysis (GSRA) of fault currents is proposed address issue achieving balance between reliability speed relay for lines. This uses current measured at both ends under various operating conditions, calculates correlation positive negative lines using slope distance polarity increments. Based this, GSRA used analyze signals so that can be eliminated quickly. allows selectivity traditional improved. Simulations PSCAD/EMTDC have shown this method achieve discrimination pole selection by simultaneously measuring line. fast action not affected capacitance converter blocking, strong resistance transition noise interference, reliable identification heavy loads high-resistance ground faults.

Fault inductance based protection for DC distribution systems

The fault protection is a critical element to ensure the reliable and secure operation of DC distribution systems. Most DC distribution systems are tightly coupled systems with low line impedances which may result in fast current increase during a fault. Thus, it is challenging to develop a fast and reliable DC fault protection method. This paper proposes and develops a novel fault inductance b...

A Novel Wide-Area Backup Protection Based on Fault Component Current Distribution and Improved Evidence Theory

In order to solve the problems of the existing wide-area backup protection (WABP) algorithms, the paper proposes a novel WABP algorithm based on the distribution characteristics of fault component current and improved Dempster/Shafer (D-S) evidence theory. When a fault occurs, slave substations transmit to master station the amplitudes of fault component currents of transmission lines which are...
